Encountered Error When Recreating Azure Kusto Cluster: Name Already Taken

Hello,

I recently removed an existing Kusto cluster from Azure using the "az kusto cluster remove" command.

However, when attempting to recreate a new cluster with the same name, I encountered the following error message: "Name 'XXXX' with type Engine is already taken. Please specify a different name."

This issue started occurring last week. For information, my scripts have worked fine since last year.

Is this a new bug on your side? Could there be a cache mechanism that needs to be purged to resolve this? Any insights or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

    Hello @Rezgui, Bilel,

welcome to this moderated Azure community forum.

Because this is a questions regarding (a bug in) the Azure infrastructure, my suggestions is to create an Azure support ticket.

Optionally, you can give feedback to Microsoft in the Azure portal:

There, you can also allow Microsoft to contact you if needed.

    Hi Rezgui, Bilel,

Thank you for posting query in Microsoft Q&A Platform.

Its appears to me as product backend issue. I would encourage you to have a support ticket for this for deeper investigation and resolution. Below link helps with the steps. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-portal/supportability/how-to-create-azure-support-request

Between, I reached internal team to know if any insights on this. Will share updates once I hear back. Thank you.

    Hope this helps.
