I am creating an Automatic Deployment Rule in SCCM and I'm not sure whether to select "Add to an existing software update group" or "Create a new software update group." Can anyone explain the difference between the two options? Thank you in advance.

    Hi, @Piar Pall

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.

When creating an Automatic Deployment Rule (ADR) in SCCM, you have the option to either "Add to an existing software update group" or "Create a new software update group." If you select "Add to an existing software update group," the ADR will remove all updates from the group and then add the updates that meet the criteria you define. On the other hand, if you select "Create a new software update group," the ADR will create a new group and add the updates that meet the criteria you define to that group.

It's recommended to create a new SUG every month. The main reason for this is that a lot of the built-in reporting is based on SUGs.
