I've done some Internet sleuthing and cannot find a straight answer. I represent a large organization that wishes to use Azure, but requires primary and backup facilities in different geographic locations (we'd like to have 100+ miles of separation between facilities). From what I can find online, US East and US East 2 are in the same location in Boydton, VA.

If we put a set of primary systems in US East, we would need the backup/recovery systems to be in a different geographic area for risk reduction. We'd like to use US East and US East 2 for that purpose, but I cannot get clarity on whether or not they are on the same campus.

I have found online resources telling me they're both in Boydton, VA and another resource saying one of the facilities is in the Blue Ridge Mountains nearly 100 miles away from Boydton.

Hello Steve, East US and East US 2 regions are both in Virginia. They are close to each other and they are not deemed region pair based on their close proximity. East US forms a region pair with West US while East US 2 and Central US are region pair. Don't deploy in East us and replicate to East us 2. Technically, it is not the best practice.
