No matter what data source options I select, I always get the error "No Azure AI Search resources found" (first screenshot) despite me having set up an AI Search resource (second screenshot).
This used to be called Cognitive Search, so I wonder if there's an issue with the renaming.
I am an Owner of the Subscription, so I don't suspect it's access-related.
Any ideas?

It could just be a delay on AI Studio to receive a resource availability from the back end actual AI Resource you created.
Think of Azure AI Studio as a Front End web application, and as such, depending on where you spin the front-end resource (Region) to play with your Azure AI Service it could be a deployment request in a high demand during rush hour, so it is simply a waiting time that may take a few more seconds or few minutes.
Because it may take some time during rush hour for refreshing the AI Studio, assuming the resources to be in the same Azure subscription for your newly services to be detected and be available.
As mentioned in the other feedback, since you are using a web interface, refreshing the browser may also do the trick to see the resource for the first time on the Web Graphical User Interface (Web GUI), and again just for the firs time.
On my own experience, I have faced and replicated this exact scenario more than once, and quite random but only a few times, and on those scenarios extreme scenario, interesting to notice that when I use the Back door (API), when I try to achieve the same task but not via Web Interface, by using Azure Resource API services and reference in the code based access to perform API Call to the services I just created, the response time is much faster and within seconds.

@Alex Avery Thanks for reaching here! I see you have already created Search service- could you please close your add data window, refresh Azure portal and then again try to add data, you should now see your search service.
Let me know
