    Hi Aswin

Yes, it is possible to configure a disaster recovery (DR) secondary region for an Azure Virtual Machine (VM) outside of India, such as in Singapore or the East US. Azure Site Recovery (ASR) allows you to replicate Azure VMs from one region to another, including regions outside of the original VM's geographic area.

Decide on the secondary region where you want to replicate your VM. Factors to consider include the proximity to your primary region (to minimize latency), costs (since prices can vary between regions), and the availability of services and features you require.
You can use https://azurespeedtest.azurewebsites.net/ to see the best region latency speed.

For more information about the regional availability of the service, visit the Azure regions page.

Get in touch if you need more help with this issue.

    Hi @Aswin Aswin,

Thanks for contacting Microsoft Q&A platform.

Yes, it is possible to configure a disaster recovery (DR) secondary region for an Azure Virtual Machine (VM) outside of India, such as in Singapore or the East US. Azure Site Recovery allows you to perform global disaster recovery. You can replicate and recover VMs between any two Azure regions in the world. If you have concerns around data sovereignty, you may choose to limit replication within your specific geographic cluster.

See here to find details on the various geographic clusters supported.
    Hope this helps you.
