Need some clarity on limits for Files associated with Open AI Assistants

Question

There are a few ways to add Files. They could be associated with an Assistant and also associated with a specific message. Somewhere it says that only 20 files are allowed.

is this 20/Assisant? And does that include files attached to messages?

if I have multiple assistants - is it 20 total for all assistants?

The limit of 20 files is per assistant/thread and I believe it might include files attached to messages but please try. If you have multiple assistants, the limit of 20 files applies to each assistant separately. I hope this helps.
