You are running a Windows 10 virtual machine on a hypervisor.

When a shutdown command is issued from the hypervisor, the "poweroff" loading screen continues to run for about 8 minutes before the system shuts down.

Is there a way to check this from the OS? Should I check the Event Viewer?

Is it possible to check how long it has been running in the Event Viewer?

    Hello,

Yes, you can check the Event Viewer to see if there are any errors or warnings related to the shutdown process. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Press the Windows key + X and select "Event Viewer" from the menu.
    2. In the Event Viewer, expand "Windows Logs" and select "System".
    3. Look for any events with a source of "Kernel-Power" or "User32" that occurred around the time of the shutdown.
    4. Check the "General" tab of the event to see if there are any error or warning messages related to the shutdown process.

    Best Regards,

    Hi Hania Lian,

You mean you can determine how much loading has occurred from the event log?
