Hello, I'm wondering if someone could provide some insight into the Purview Data Map > Source Management > Connections blade? (what is it used for?)

There doesn't seem to be any documentation on this feature, and I haven't been able to identify its functionality when testing it.

    Hello @Brendan Yee ,

The Purview Data Map > Source Management > Connection Page is used for creating unique connections to services to use more of Microsoft Purview Data Map's features.

You might use the connection page when creating connections for some workflows or protection policies that require you to make special connections to partner resources.

Find the relevant documentation Here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/purview/data-map-connections-page

I believe the Purview Data Map > Source Management > Connections blade in Purview is used to manage connections to different data sources. This is where you set up and manage all the connections to your various sources (such as Power BI, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure SQL Database etc.) that you want to list in Purview. When a connection is made, you can create and manage scans for that data source, which will populate the Purview Data Map with metadata about the data in the source.
