Dear friends !

I have Windows Server 2016 . I have enable Remote desktop conection and created 03 users for that.
Connection is still good, and now i want to remove one user from remote desktop group. I have deleted user from list (computer manager > local users and groups > "user name" > properties > member of >...delete from remote desktop users)
I tried to check that by making a connection from a PC to server,But that user is still active ! I also tried with another user name but still bad. All user is still actived !!
Please guide me how to remove a user from remote destkop !

    Hello @mtam.ctrl

If you want to remove the administrator ,maybe you can go through group policy:

    Hello @mtam.ctrl
Are all the three users and the 2016 server in the same domain? Is there any domain policy set?

When delete the user from local users and groups, what if you also delete the user profile on the server:

There are other ways you can try to remove remote users:

1.Remove Remote Desktop Users in Remote Desktop Users Settings

2.Remove Remote Desktop Users in Command Prompt

Type net localgroup "Remote Desktop Users" "User" /delete in CMD
(User in the command above is the actual name of the user account)

Keep me posted how it goes. Thank you and have a great day!

    Dear KarlieWeng-MSFT

This PC is not a domain controller, not a domain. This PC is only a PC in workgroup.
All the three users is on same PC.
Do not have any domain policy !
When I deleted user from "Remote desktop users" group. I have NOT deleted user profiles !

    Today, i have checked again,
I have 3 account: Administrator, operator, and user1 , ALL three account is setting for Remote desktop connection

    For account: "operator" and "user1"
I have deleted all "user group" in tab "member of", only put a group "Users".
.....computer manger > local ussers and group > users > "username" > properties > member of >.....
and then i tried to make a connecting from another PC. The result is good. These account is disable now!

    BUT for account: "administrator"
I tried to make the same, i can not remove this account from administrator group. because this is a built-in account for adminstratering.
This account is still actived although:

    1. i have deleted it from the "member of" tab in .....computer manger > local ussers and group > users > "username" > properties > member of >.....
    2. this account is NOT in Remote desktop ussers list
    3. I can NOT delete the Profiles stored of this account. button "delete" is grey.
