Office app files (ppt, word, excel) are not opening from OneDrive, but can from Personal Vault

I have updated to Office LTSE 2021 and cannot open any files from my OneDrive, but I can from my Personal Vault or on my Desktop/local HD

When I click to open the small popup box appears and then disappears.

The popup box reads 'Starting Microsoft Excel' then 'Processing' before disappearing.

Task Manager recognizes Excel starting then it stops and disappears.

If I move files from Onedrive folders to Personal Vault or local drive. The files open normally.

I can open PDFs and image files from my Onedrive no problem, but nothing relating to Office.

I believe something from Office is rejecting the opening of these files.

Office us updated to the latest version as is Onedrive.

Please assist as this is incredibly annoying.

    Hi,

I suggest check the File Permissions:

    • Open the OneDrive folder.
    • Right-click on the file or folder you can’t open.
    • Go to OneDrive > Manage access. This will open the Manage Access menu.
    • If your name is no longer on the list, it means you cannot access the file.

Check your firewall or anti-virus software and try disabling them.

Just checking in to see if the information was helpful. Please let us know if you would like further assistance.
