Hello,
In the Windows operating system, Group Policy allows you to configure automatic checking for updates, including getting updates from Microsoft Update. Here are the steps on how to set up automatic checks for "Check online for updates from Microsoft Update":
- Open the Local Group Policy Editor: Press the 'Win + R' keys to open the 'Run' dialog box, type 'gpedit.msc' and press enter to open the 'Local Group Policy Editor'.
- Navigate to Update Service Configuration: In the Local Group Policy Editor, expand the following path: Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update.
- Configure Microsoft Update: Double-click the Configure Automatic Update policy in the list on the right, and in the window that opens, select the Enabled option. In the Options area, select Automatically download and notify installation or automatically download and schedule installation (depending on when you want the update to be installed after it is downloaded automatically).
Best Regards,
Yanhong Liu
