Hello, We received the following message Action required: Migrate your Azure workloads to Av2-series VMs before 31 August 2024. But our VMs are using Standard_A2_v2, which seems that it is v2, but we received this message. I checked there are no A series in the size options, only A_v2 series. It's not clear.

Could you please provide some info do we have to take any actions?

    Hi Vladislav,

It is Av1 VM sizes that are being retired on August 31, 2024. Av2 VMs are still available, with no announced retirement date.

Were any v1 VMs being used in the subscription recently (last couple months), but you resized them to Av2? I ask because the information used to generate notifications can lag.

Are there any other workloads in the subscription that may be running v1 VMs? For example, Azure Batch pool that uses Av1?

Basic and Standard A-series VMs will retire on 31 August 2024

That's being deprecated - you'd need to migrate

Hello, @Filev, Vladislav ! The retirement notification has caused some confusion today. If you are not using Av1 series VMs or are already using or have migrated to Av2 series VMs, no action is required. You can continue to use your Standard_A2_v2.

Why did I receive a VM deprecation warning?

VM deprecation notifications will sometimes trigger if you are capable of deploying the VM size in question and do not necessarily indicate that you have deployed VMs that need to be migrated. If have no Av1 series VMs or are already using or have migrated to Av2 series VMs, no action is required.

    https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/updates/action-required-migrate-your-azure-workloads-to-av2series-vms-before-31-august-2024/

On 31 August 2024, we'll retire Basic and Standard A-series VMs. Before that date, you'll need to migrate your workloads to Av2-series VMs, which provide more memory per vCPU and faster storage on solid-state drives (SSDs).

Required action To avoid service disruptions, migrate your workloads from Basic and Standard A-series VMs to Av2-series VMs before 31 August 2024.
