New DevBox instance on Azure cant start visual studio 2022 because the 'trial' is expired for the signed in user.

I recently provisioned one of Microsoft Azure's new DevBox (preview) VM instances with Windows 11 and VS2022 Enterprise.

Upon logging into the machine, and entering my required Microsoft accounts into the windows 11 setup that begins at the first RDP session connected, I attempted to start VS2022 from the shortcut already on the desktop.

The Visual Studio Account / License window appeared, and informed me that my trial had already expired for Visual Studio 2022 Enterprise. It gives no other options.

1.) Is the VS2022 Enterprise license not provided as part of the DevBox deployment? It doesn't even seem to be an option to install without it...so I assume it would be provided.

2.) If the license is not provided...then are any of the licenses on this machine? Windows Activation, SQL Server, Office 365(which is also preinstalled with no option to not)

I understand this is a preview product, but it's not a beta...did I do something wrong in the setup? Without including a VS2022 license, it makes the DevBox basically useless as is.

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hello @Bryan Sampica

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A platform.

    To answer your questions:

The Visual Studio 2022 Enterprise license is not provided as part of the DevBox deployment. You will need to provide your own license for Visual Studio 2022 Enterprise.

The licenses for Windows Activation, SQL Server, and Office 365 are provided as part of the DevBox deployment. These licenses should be activated automatically when you log in to the DevBox instance.

If you are having issues with the licenses not being activated, you can try the following steps:

Check the activation status of Windows by going to Settings > Update & Security > Activation. If Windows is not activated, click on the "Activate" button and follow the prompts to activate Windows.

Check the activation status of Office 365 by opening any Office application (such as Word or Excel) and clicking on "File" > "Account". If Office is not activated, click on the "Activate" button and follow the prompts to activate Office.

Check the activation status of SQL Server by opening SQL Server Management Studio and connecting to the SQL Server instance. If SQL Server is not activated, you can activate it by running the SQL Server Installation Center and selecting the "Maintenance" option, then selecting "Edition Upgrade" and following the prompts to enter your product key.

If you are still having issues with the licenses not being activated, you can contact Microsoft support for further assistance.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any further questions. To answer your questions:
