Hello, I am setting up my Office 365 suite on my desktop and every time I sign in, I get the following error message: I am the admin for this organization and I am getting it all setup. My account appears to still be on this device, and so far the content I have made has been present. Does anyone know a good starting point to look into this? It should also be noted that my overall setup of the office suite still has quite a ways to go. Any advice would be helpful! thank you!

Hello,

This specific setup is not integrated with Azure in any Way. This is the standalone software solution for Microsoft Office 365.

@Khristian Ortega Sandeep's answer is still correct.

Microsoft has had an idiotic bug for at least the 5 full years I've been using 365.

If you purchase or select any trial license that includes Intune as an option, even if you don't use Intune, Microsoft automatically turns ON: MDM and WIP for ALL.

Then because you and I and everyone else have not configured MDM and WIP, but because they are ON by default, trying to connect new devices fails because it tries to look up the WIP user scope, but it is not configured, so it fails.

Even if you just got a trial of something, say Microsoft 365 E3, it turns MDM and WIP ON, and then you purchase Basic licenses or whatever and the trial is finished, deleted, gone; Microsoft Intune MDM and WIP REMAIN ON and unconfigured

So so so so stupid to default those settings to on when not configured.

Hi Sandeep,

I am having the exact same issue here.

I followed your instructions to set "Windows Information Protection (WIP) user scope" to "None", however it will not allow me to save the "None" setting (Save is grayed out). The previous setting for both MDM & WIP was All, but there was no data in any of the fields;

I don't believe this is a DNS issue as I am able to resolve to enrollment.manage.microsoft.com site.

Any further thoughts as to how this might be corrected?

By the way, we do not use InTune at all... it just came as part of our company O365 subscription.

we have the same problem...it asks repeatedly for the credentials and finally the error appears.... sometimes it loops and asks the user 10-12 times to enter the credentials to end up giving the same error. We can't disable the MDM&WIP option either. Any solution?
