Excel =image capabilities

The new =image has the potential to be really powerful but there are some limitations at this stage that are almost impossible to find a workaround for. Currently, using the function to display the image from a URL does not account for EXIF data, resulting in many raw images being rotated by 270degrees. Is there anything (other than a lengthy bespoke python script that is likely to cause more problems that is solves) that can handle this issue inside Excel as opposed to working around it?

Will there also be a time when the function will be able to retrieve from a local path?

    Hi @Anonymous

    I suggest you select and right-click on one EXIF image > Picture in Cell > Place over Cells.

    Then you may adjust its size and rotate it in Picture Format tab.

    For the second question, let Image function be suitable for local images, it's recommended to submit it in the Microsoft Feedback forum.

    This way, you can help Microsoft engineers have a better visibility on what issues that you’re experiencing with Office product and which features are most important to you. Thanks for your understanding.
