Availability of GPT-4 and Assistant in Japan Region

Is GPT-4 (non-preview) available for subscription in the Japaneast region, particularly for in-house data processing? I heard that pre-existing customers have been granted full access to it. Additionally, we would like to confirm if Assistant is currently unavailable in Japan. We are exploring options for implementing an assistant and have been using Chat playground in sandbox as a starting point. Thank you.

Please note, as per Microsoft documentation, GPT-4 (non-preview) is not available in Japan-east region.

Please refer the below screenshot:

The above table only covers model/region availability that applies to all Azure OpenAI customers with deployment types of Standard. Some select customers have access to model/region combinations that are not listed in the unified table below.

As you rightly mentioned, In addition to the regions above which are available to all Azure OpenAI customers, some selected pre-existing customers have been granted access to versions of GPT-4 in additional regions:

You can try to submit your request via this form and provide valid justification to gain access to the required model in required region.

Please be aware that the regional availability is limited. Capacity requests will be granted on a space available basis, and we may grant your capacity in alternate geographies if the one you requested is not available.

Thank you for your prompt response. I tried looking at quota increase forms and support template requests earlier and they don't mention specifically a non-preview model, just a field for the allocated units. Is this something I can mention specifically in the integer field?

@Castillo Lian / カスティロリアン Thanks for getting back. In the form, you can select the gpt-4 in the dropdown to get the non-preview model as shown below:

Additionally, there is no guarantee that your request will be approved for an application.

If your request for JapanEast gets approved, you can expect an email from Cognitive Services Gating Support csgate@microsoft.com or Microsoft Azure OpenAI [msazureopenai@microsoft.com] .

Note that unfortunately, there is no ETA on when this would be approved considering its high in demand.

My suggestion would be to refer the Azure OpenAI model availability guide for region availability. Microsoft frequently updates this documentation for any new releases.
