Why do two different folders at the same hierarchy level share the same permission ID?

If I directly grant access to Folder A to a user, I receive a permission ID. If I then grant access to Folder B for the same user, I receive the same ID that was given to Folder A instead of a different one. Why are different permissions not given? I'd like to understand the reasoning.

    Hi @Hsaniba,

Permission id is for the permission level grant to user, group and app. The two folders with the same permission should have the same permission id. It's an expected behavior. You could refer to the following document for more details

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/graph/api/site-list-permissions?view=graph-rest-1.0&tabs=http
