EvntAgnt event error 3007

Hi Support,

Our SQL server have an error 3007 on the EvntAgnt:

Error opening event Error opening event log file State. Log will not be processed. Return code from OpenEventLog is 87.

Any idea?

Could you please tell me the version of your Windows? I found that there are many people meeting the same issue in Windows 10 Insider 17711 or 17713 build.

Hope these suggestions can help you well:

You can revert to an earlier version (such as Windows 10 stable) to solve the issue.

Stopping the SNMP service and setting it to disabled at startup.

It is reported that this issue is fixed in Build 17723 or later. Just upgrade to that.

It is Windows Server 2022.

And we need the SNMP services in our environment. Any other suggestion?

Hi @Chong,

The PC will behave oddly and CPU high with Windows Event Log when appear this issue, could you please check out your CPU resources?

Thanks for your information. Indeed, from the error, I think it was SNMP that was triggering those events. Could you please try to disable the SNMP service and reboot it, check if this event appears again?

Stop the SNMP services can stop the error, but we need to enable it. How can we fix the error?

I don't think SQL cause this issue entirely, I am not the expert of SNMP, and I can give suggestions about SQL only. I suggest you open a new case to ask Windows how to resolve this issue.

In addition, you can check whether the Windows need to update.
