CALLTO and TEL Links not working in New Teams

Question

I try to initiate calls with Microsoft Teams over Callto links.
In the "old" Teams this is working without any problems. When I try to make a call using a CALLTO link with the New Teams App, I get a popup saying:

Sorry, we're unable to complete the call There was an issue finding the person you were trying to reach.

Exactly the same error message appears when trying to use TEL (Tested with phone numbers an Adresses).

I read an article about this from September stating that CALLTO links don't work in New Teams yet but it should be fixed with the official release on April 1st. So now I'm getting messages that the old Teams will be shut down soon and we have to change to New Teams but it isn't working as supposed to.

For further Insight: We're using a Microsoft RDS running on Windows Server 2022. I know this is not actually supported for Microsoft Teams but I unfortunately have no other possibility.

We have not yet received information about fixing the CALLTO link. To better help you solve your problem, please contact MS phone support for more assistance.

Meanwhile, to fix this problem more quickly, you can send a feedback directly to Microsoft Feedback to add it in future updates.

Many features of our current products are designed and upgraded based on customers’ feedback. With requirements like this increase, the problem may well be released in the future.

I was able to resolve the problem! It was completely my mistake. When using Old Teams I always tested the links with "CALLTO://xxx", somehow this will not work with New Teams. But the links will work if you just leave the // out. So if you're typing "CALLTO:xxx" it works as expected. Thank you anyway.
