Hello there,

I have a farm of around 10 servers, or something like that, I want to connect to a specific server for management purposes, is there any other way to do this without mstsc /admin ? like some kind of alias in the DNS area created so when I go by that specific name it would let me go through ?

I am basically looking for another solution, as mstsc /admin or the old version of mstsc /console is not really an good option for me.

All servers are Win2K19 Standard Edition.

Thanks a lot.

    Hi,
The only method to isolate users to connect on a specific VM from the farm is to move the VM into a separate collection.
This is because there is no built-in feature to assign users to a specific RDSH that is part of a load-balanced collection.

Hope this helps and please help to accept as Answer if the response is useful.

    Thanks,
    Jenny

    Hi,
Depending on the client OS you are using (either server or windows 10), you could consider 1.Server manager 2.Remote Server Administration Tools.

In Windows Server, you can use Server Manager to perform management tasks on remote servers but following details need to be considered before using.
Configure remote Management in Server Manager
    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/administration/server-manager/configure-remote-management-in-server-manager

Use Remote Server Administration Tools for Windows 10 will enable you to manage specific technologies on computers that are running Windows Server.

    Hi,
For servers without Session Host roles, it only allow two remote session at the same time, otherwise, RDSH role with RDS CAL is needed.

From server manager in the servers, it will provide feature for users to perform some actions remotely in Server B, if they logged in Server A. For RSAT, similar functions will achieved when users logged in Clients like windows 10 but want to perform actions in Servers.

Moreover, a RDS configuration without RD connection broker does not provide access to all RDS functionality, including access to RemoteApp programs or the RDWeb website. Guidance to deploy RDS without RDCB are followed as below:
    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/windows-server/remote/install-rds-host-role-service-without-connection-broker
