Request for Support in Developing a Neural TTS System in Uzbek Language

I am writing to express my keen interest in developing a neural Text-to-Speech (TTS) system utilizing Azure Speech Studio, specifically tailored for the Uzbek language. My project's aim is to create a TTS system that not only supports the Uzbek language but also incorporates various styles of speech to enhance user experience and accessibility.

Unfortunately, I encountered a significant obstacle in realizing this vision: the current iteration of Azure Speech Studio does not support the Uzbek language for neural voice training. This limitation poses a challenge to my project's development and its potential impact on Uzbek-speaking users.

Given the importance of inclusivity and linguistic diversity in technology, I kindly request your guidance or assistance in one of the following ways:

Direct Support: If possible, could the Azure team consider adding support for the Uzbek language in an upcoming update? This addition would greatly benefit not only my project but also open new avenues for Azure Speech Studio's application in Central Asia.

Guidance for Custom Development: If direct support for Uzbek is not immediately feasible, could you provide guidance or resources on how I might train my own neural TTS system in Uzbek? I am willing and prepared to undertake this development myself with Azure's tools and resources, especially if there are ways to incorporate speech styles into the TTS model.

I am deeply committed to this project and believe that with Azure's advanced technologies and support, we can make significant strides in bridging linguistic gaps in digital services. Unfortunately, Azure Speech Studio does not currently support the Uzbek language for neural voice training. However, we understand the importance of inclusivity and linguistic diversity in technology, and we appreciate your request for support in this area. If direct support for Uzbek is not immediately feasible, we recommend using the Azure Speech Service SDK to build a custom TTS system. The Speech SDK provides a set of APIs that allow you to synthesize speech from text in a variety of languages and voices.
