Morning everyone!

I have a Synapse endpoint connected to pbix. Before the latest Power BI update (march 2024), I was able to connect perfectly using the SQL Server connector, and Database Credentials, Unectrypted Connection, Privacy Level = None. However, after the latest Power BI update (march 2024), when I try refresh the model in Power BI Desktop, it showing the next message:

"The server name provide doesn't match the server name on the SQL Server SSL certificate. Please contact your administrador or see the link below for more information. Alternatively, you could change your Connection encryption setting. Would you like to conitnue using an unectrypted connection?

Maybe you can help me. Thanks a lot!

    Hello GILLI Gabriel Matías,

    Thanks for confirming the details.

A similar issue was discussed on the Power BI forum community.

<copied the content from the PBI forum community>

It seems like with the updated version, the Encrypt connection check box is selected to singnify that PBI desktop connect to synapse using Encrypted connection.

If the connection to synapse is not established using encrypted connection, PBI desktop prompts to connect using unencrypted connection.

    To resolve this:

Go to file--> options and settings--> Data source settings, choose your Synapse data source and uncheck "Encrypt Connections" option

I hope this resolves your issue.
