How to query External View in Synapse 1 from Synapse 2?

Hello,

I am looking to query External View (View1) in Synapse1 from Synapse2. Synapse2 has a link service for Synapse1 and the View1 has been added as an integration dataset.

Looking to use onDemand (serverless) pool.

I am looking to query View1 from Synapse2 without creating a copy of data. Is this possible?

I noticed a similar topic, https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/1389591/there-is-use-case-in-which-i-have-to-connect-one-s where @KranthiPakala-MSFT have suggested that Synapse team is reviewing this in Oct 2023, has anything chanced since Oct of 2023?

As per the latest updates from Microsoft, it is currently not possible to directly query an External View in Synapse Workspace 1 from Synapse Workspace 2. While there is no explicit documentation stating this limitation, there are no functionalities that would enable such cross-workspace External View queries.
