Unable to recover Automation account in Azure

Hi,

I need help with restoring my Azure automation account.

I created an automation account for some testing in the EastUS region and I deleted all the resources once my testing was complete. Then, I tried creating an automation account again but got the following error:

"Only one account is allowed for your subscription per Region. If Deleted recently, please restore the same account azure automation"

Based on above error, I attempted to restore the automation account in the same RG. However, I got the following error message:

"An error occurred while restoring account 'site-reco-jid-asr-automationaccount'. Error details: {"Message":"Free Trial and Student subscriptions cannot create accounts in this location. Please select from the allowed regions: [eastus, eastus2, westus, northeurope, southeastasia, japanwest]."}. Error code: BadRequest.."

It appears to be an issue on the Azure side. Automation accounts are allowed to be created in the EastUS region but I am not sure why I am getting an error while restoring the account in the same region.

As this issue looks strange, this issue needs deeper investigation and I would recommend you to open a azure support case. Support team will be able to check and help on this.

Once the issue is resolved, request you to post the resolution here for the benefit of community.
