Why is Document Intelligence extremely slow?

I've started a resource in US East to test analyzing documents via the APIs. It seems to accept the requests and give me a URL for fetching the results. However the result URL just keep saying "running". I'm talking 15 minutes later.

So then I logged into Azure and tried to see if something about my requests are causing this issue. Upon testing one of the example documents with the layout model inside the Azur UI, I see they too are taking for ever to process a single page.

It's worth noting I'm accessing api-version 2024-02-29-preview. Are preview versions like this?

@Arman Welcome to Microsoft Q&A Forum, Thank you for posting your query here!

We have got a few customers reporting the latency issue in East US with 2024-02-29-preview api-version.

    Our Findings:

The latency observed is due to the capacity issue we are having with the 2024-02-29-preview version in East US.

    Temporary workaround:

Using another region, or another API version, would be possible workarounds until we can address the issue.

    Mitigation / Fix:

The fix has been merged but it is not yet deployed. We are working on this on priority. This issue has also been escalated to the Product group team. I will update this thread once the issue is fixed.

    Update (18/Sept/2024):
The fix has been deployed now to all regions and the slowness (latency) issue should be mitigated now.
