Dear Microsoft Support Team,

I am writing to inquire about the commercial use of your Office Web Viewer tool, specifically accessed via the following link: https://view.officeapps.live.com/op/embed.aspx. My goal is to utilize this tool to render both Excel (XLS) and Word (DOC) files within a commercial application that I am developing. Could you please provide information on the licensing requirements or any restrictions that may apply to this use?

Furthermore, if there are any specific documentation or guidelines regarding the integration of this tool into commercial applications, particularly for these file types, I would greatly appreciate if you could direct me to these resources.

Thank you for your time and assistance, and I look forward to your response.

Best regards,

Bruno Lopes da Rosa

    Hi @Bruno Lopes da rosa

So far, I do not find the related link of licensing requirements or any restrictions for this service.

From the link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/blog/2013/04/10/office-web-viewer-view-office-documents-in-a-browser/, It's a service that creates Office Web Viewer links. We can use it in website or blog (e.g., recipes, photo slide show, a menu, or a budget template) to let users read files online without downloading.

In my opinion, this service is free, as it does not allow people edit the Office files. Like no activated Office apps, they in view only mode.

Besides, it seems that no related development documentation or guidelines.
