how to get rid of script error in excel web query

I am using ms excel 2016 standard and OS is windows 10. I have been trying to use web query feature in excel to download a data from a website but have been getting scripting error. how i can avoid that. Also i guess my excel tries to open the web page thru Internet explorer. i don't have intrernet explorer in my desktop. But i have MS edge. can I change to google chrome?

    Does this issue occur with other web URLs?

    The web access via EXCEL 2016 is IE based, it can not be changed.

    Please try New Query > From Web option, check whether you may load the data successfully.

    Does this issue occur with other web URLs? - yes it does.

    Please try New Query > From Web option, check whether you may load the data successfully. - The scripting error did pop up again. Though I can just escape it but that will be a manual intervention.
