Hi All
I am using exchange 2016 hybrid environment and lets say my domain is domain1.com. i have another domain lets say domain2.com and domain2.com is external to domain1.com In exchange onprem domain2.com is added as accepted domain. in exchange online domain2.com is added as remote domain.
Application is hosted on domain2.com and it is triggering emails to domain1.com DLs(onprem Dls and online DLs) from sender ******@domain2.com .DLs(onprem & online) accept emails from the sender ******@domain2.com when i change the DL settings of the delivery management to (Allow messages from people inside and outside my organization)
Is it possible to make the sender ******@domain2.com as internal as this sender is sending emails to atleast 1000 DLs. i dont want to modify the DL Delivery Management settings as it will expose the DLs to external users. is it possible by creating transport rule to modify the header to internal from sender ******@domain2.com

2024-04-22T03:21:55.5866667+00:00 In an Exchange hybrid environment, if you want to treat senders from specific external domains (e.g. ******@domain2.com) as internal senders without changing the delivery management settings for distribution lists (DLs), you can try creating a transport rule (also known as a mail flow rule) to achieve this.
- Log in to EAC.
- In the EAC, navigate to the "Rules" section under the "Mail Flow" category.
- Click the "+" icon to create a new rule.
- On the new rule settings page, give the rule a name.
- In the drop-down menu for "Apply this rule if...", select "From...", then select "Address contains these words", and enter "******@domain2.com".
- In the drop-down menu for Do the following..., select Modify Message Header..., then select Add Message Header, enter X-MS-Exchange-Organization-AuthAs in the Header field, and enter Internal in the Value field.
