Linux ARC agents not showing up in ARC

I'm in the process of onboarding Windows and Linux servers to Azure ARC. Windows is doing fine, but after successfully onboarding my three first Linux servers in a pilot, the rest won't register. I'm running the onboarding script manually with a service principal, the same one in use when onboarding Windows. The scripts exits with

Installed:

azcmagent-1.39.02628-1431.x86_64

Complete!

Latest version of azcmagent is installed.

What can be wrong? How to troubleshoot?

    Reiterating the answer here for a broader audience. You should be able to on-board Linux machines with the single server onboarding script and no service principle.
