Cannot connect to the Azure VPN Client: Server did not respond properly to VPN Control Packets. Session State: Reset sent

Since today I cannot connect to the Azure VPN Client of our client. If I try, I get the following error message:

"Server did not respond properly to VPN Control Packets. Session State: Reset sent"

Next, I looked into the logs and found the following errors:

  • [Error] SId:[Primary] Couldn't load packet length bytes.
  • [Error] SId:[Primary] ReadInitPackets Failed: 1
  • [Error] SId:[Primary] Failed to establish OpenVPN connection: Server did not respond properly to VPN Control Packets. Session State: Opnieuw instellen verzonden

I tried to look up some suggestions on how to fix it. The local time of my laptop should already be in sync with the Azure VPN Client, this hasn't changed since yesterday.
