Unfortunately, SharePoint 2010 does not provide an out-of-the-box way to directly modify the email template for “Alert Me” notifications. However, we can customize the email body by editing the alert template files. Keep in mind that this approach requires more advanced knowledge and access to the SharePoint server.

• Locate the alert template files on your SharePoint server. These files are typically located in the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\TEMPLATE\XML directory.
• Look for the alerttemplates.xml file.
• Edit the appropriate section within the <Fields> element to control how columns are displayed in the email body.
