Freezing Columns on a SharePoint List

Hi. I have a SharePoint list that contains a large amount of data with several columns. How do I freeze the first six columns, or, at minimum, just freeze the sixth column? I've been scouring the internet and found that there is no direct way to accomplish this, but there are work-arounds. The problem is that the solutions are not easy to follow for someone who does not have experience with CSS, jquery, html, (etc). If I HAVE to use one of these languages, I'll find someone to help me; Or if someone could provide a more detailed response, that would be so helpful!! Note: No columns on the sp list are to be hidden (to shorten the length of scrolling from left to right). Thanks!

Hi @Stephanie Harris ,

As you said, there is currently no out-of-the-box way to implement it. For using CSS, jquery, html, (etc), it is more complicated. I have two suggestions for your consideration:

  1. As a workaround, I recommend you use Export to Excel from List. Then freeze the columns in the excel file to view the data. Moreover, the data has a one-way connection to the original list. Periodically refreshing the workbook pulls in changes that have been made in the list. This should meet your needs.
  2. Regarding this matter, it is recommended that you submit feedback. Microsoft values its customer feedback and a lot of features have been developed and suggested by customers via feedback.

Thank you for your support and understanding!

Thanks for the excel tip, Yanli.

Regarding the feedback, I didn't add a new suggestion/feedback, I just found an already existing feedback and added a comment. Here is the link: https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/idea/e2d1924a-8790-ee11-a81c-000d3a02ba69
