Windows wrongly trying to run app in elevated mode.
Hi, I would greatly appreciate help in getting Dragon Professional 16 (DP16) running again on my work PC. IT have put it into a too hard basket. OS is Windows 10 Enterprise version 1909. I am 'dhutch', a simple end-user at our institution. The error message is always 'Dragon should not be run in elevated mode'. The problem began around the time IT granted me a second log-in (Dhutch_int3) with some administrator privileges.
I tried running natspeak.exe 'Run as a different user' using a work colleague's credentials (she too is an ordinary end-user) and the same error message appeared.
DP16 does run OK if 'Run as a different user' is Dhutch_int3, or if I am logged into the PC as Dhutch_int3.
The relevant entry in the Dragon log for an attempted dhutch run reads:
2024-02-20|18:03:22.717| LEGACY|19468| 4632|I|Info: Running under 'AHSL\dhutch' account (S-1-5-21-41034656-2016893880-285021542-3465)

I can confirm that under Natspeak.exe / Properties / Compatibility, 'Run this program as an administrator' is unchecked.
The log for a successful Dhutch_int3 run reads:
2024-02-20|18:06:00.862| LEGACY|18832|12340|I|Info: Running under 'AHSL\Dhutch_int3' account (S-1-5-21-41034656-2016893880-285021542-160180)
2024-02-20|18:06:00.862| LEGACY|18832|12340|I|UAC: Info: Running with Integrity Level: <2>
I do not know if the following Registry entries are relevant. I think this one belongs to the dhutch account:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\GroupPolicy\State\S-1-5-21-41034656-2016893880-285021542-3465
It contains the entry:
CN=David Hutchinson,OU=4. Credential Roaming,OU=ADHBUsers,DC=adhb,DC=GOVT,DC=NZ
... and I think this one belongs to Dhutch_int3:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\GroupPolicy\State\S-1-5-21-41034656-2016893880-285021542-160180
It contains:
CN=David Hutchinson (Tier3),OU=Tier 3,OU=Tiered Admin Accounts,DC=adhb,DC=GOVT,DC=NZ
I am probably barking up the wrong tree but could it be relevant that the CN for both entries is David Hutchinson?
I have spent hours on this and have got nowhere.
