I have had this host pool out there for over a year in the South Central Region and 2 of the 4 hosts are giving me this error this morning. We do not have sufficient capacity for the requested VM size in this zone.

these are not new VMSs, they have been deployed for some time.

    Hi Schifter,

Do you have schedule to auto shutdown/start your Azure VMs? because that will deallocate VMs and reallocate them. You may find more information here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/azure/virtual-machines/windows/allocation-failure

In my practice, maybe good to choose a new (latest) VM model with similar capacity and that can be fixed quickly.
