How to fix “error(0) invalid linked service reference name: keyvault” Error in Purview connecting to on prem Sql server using SHIR

Im trying to run a Purview scan for an on-prem Sql-server database. I have created key vault for the credential secret and installed a Self hosted integration runtime in the on prem machine, which is running. When i try to test-connection in Purview using the key vault secret ( windows/ SQL authentication) , the connection fails with the error(0) invalid linked service reference. Name: key vault name.
Login through SSMS using windows authentication gives a domain trust issue error , but im able to connect to the Database using the SQL authentication.

- An active Microsoft Purview account.
- You'll need to be a Data Source Administrator and Data Reader to register a source and manage it in the Microsoft Purview governance portal. See our Microsoft Purview Permissions page for details.
- Set up the latest self-hosted integration runtime. For more information, see the create and configure a self-hosted integration runtime guide.
regarding the invalid linked service error, please check that the key vault connection is correctly established.

The key vault connection works with Azure integration runtime scans for azure data sources. This error is encountered while trying to scan using SHIR. I have verified all the pre-requisites mentioned in the document, I can also see the key vault secret is accessible to the on prem server using”getazkeyvaultsecret”. Is there any other checks to be done?
