Hello Experts,

Infra : Microsoft Entra Joined Device with E3/E5 License.

Device Vendor : Lenovo, Microsoft Surface

Image : OEM Preinstalled Copy

We Experience issue, with Selecing language or Key Board Lay out, and Would like to ask if any known scenario for us.

Let us Assume the Device hardware Hash is Uploaded to Tenant, and the Auto Pilot Profile is assigned based on the Group Tag with User (assigned)

Now, the Device should Prompt to Enter the Password for the Corresponding Tenanant based user credential.

If the Process with

a. Wifi : The 1st Page (Region Selection) --> 2nd Page (Language Selection) --> 3rd Page (Key Board Lay Out) --> 4th Page (Additional Key Board Lay Out) if any... --> 5th Page (Asking to Enter the Wiif Password) --> 6th Page (User Crednentails) -->7th Page (MFA Approval) and the next pages with Enrollment Process

b. If LAN : 1st Page : Automatically get Provisoned with ENG UK or ENG US, and asking to enter the Password. This makes little trouble for user, that they are not getting option to try the Correct password

So far, We experience this scenario with 2 Differnet Vendors and Multiple Tenant. Does any one came across this Scenario? and Please Suggest.!

    A. Wifi looks like working by designed, fine.
    B. It sounds that your installers hit WIN key 5 times and select Autopilot pre-provisioning? If you don't hit WIN 5 times, you would get as similar experience as with WIFI.

@Veera Ragavan, Thanks for posting in Q&A.

For your issue, according to the official document, it says using wireless connectivity requires selecting region, language and keyboard before you're able to connect and start provisioning. That's because there's a delay in connecting to WIFI so that the device doesn't receive the Autopilot file in the first place so that it can make some configurations according to the file. So, you need to manually select the language and keyboard layout and some other settings listed in the OOBE interface.

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/autopilot/pre-provision#prerequisites

However, using LAN will allow the device to receive the Autopilot file at the first time and configure the device according to the file, such as automatically selecting the language and keyboard layout.

Therefore, if you want end user to manually select language and keyboard layout, it is suggested that you configure the Language (Region) to User select in your Autopilot profile.

Hope above information can be helpful.

    @Veera Ragavan I actually don't quite get the problem here.... You wrote;

"Automatically get Provisoned with ENG UK or ENG US, and asking to enter the Password. This makes little trouble for user, that they are not getting option to try the Correct password"

This is confusing problem description for me, so what is the main issue here?
