I have tried reinstalling word and office but I continue with error 53

have had this issue for awhile - none of the suggestions on this topic worked. I went to Adobe and just found the solution - it is a chip compatibility issue:

Super easy fix - right click on any of the Microsoft Office apps - get info - scroll to bottom, check box that says use Rosetta. voila error message is none gone.

Since you reinstalled Word, you'll also have to reinstall or repair Adobe Acrobat. That will replace the Adobe files that are now missing from your Word installation.

There is a high probability that this issue is related to the third-party add-in.
If the error is the file MacPDFM (Adobe) not found, please delete "linkCreation.dotm" via following path:
~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/User Content/Startup/Word/
~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/User Content/Startup/PowerPoint/
~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/User Content/Startup/Excel/
