Invoice date month and date are switched in Document Intelligence invoice prebuilt-model

The date and month is switched in this case. How can we prevent this? Did they made some updates?

@BanhMiBoSua Thanks for reaching out to us! The Document Intelligence Service determines date format by identifying the locale of the receipt. For example Australia receipt, the numeric date order is day, month. and year, so for 04/12/2023, the normalized value is 2023-12-04. As such, customer can enforce the normalized value behavior by specifying locale explicitly (e.g. en-au). Could you please share the original receipt if that is not confidential so that we can take a look?

Sorry the invoice is confidential so I cannot share with you, but this invoice is from US. We have been using this model to process our invoice (in US) but we just notice this behavior recently. FYI, all of our machines and servers and our vendors are from US as well. May I ask how do you identify the locale of the receipt?

@BanhMiBoSua Like an address or the zip code. Then could you please share the model version to me? Is that 2024-02-29 preview? This model works fine for me right now.

The address and zipcode for both vendor and recipient are in US (including state, zipcode, etc.). I am using 2024-02-29 preview. Yes, the model works well for most of the invoice, but for some invoices it get it incorrectly. I have tried those invoices for every model versions and the date and month got switched in all model versions. I guess that is the AI's limitation on this?

@BanhMiBoSua Thanks for the information, hard to say if this issue is a model limitation of the locale or there is a bug without seeing the invoice sample.

Let's raise a support ticket so that support engineer can help you under a privacy protection process, as we suspect this issue is caused by wrong locale setting.
