Run Wireshark and check which port it's communicating through then create an entry in the local firewall to allow that.
Windows 11 23H2 not able to connect to wireless Miracast
Hello,
We are currently testing Windows 11 23H2 and ready to deploy to all users in our organization. We ran into an issue that stopping us from going forward with our Win 11 deployment.
Many of us using wireless Miracast device to project our laptop for meeting and training. We have no issue with connecting to the Miracast on windows 10, but on Windows 11 when we attempt to connect, we got an error "Connection failed"
Our Windows 11 23H2 configuration.
Domain FW is "Off"
Private FW is set to "Not configured"
Public FW is set at "Not configured"
Wireless Display feature installed in Windows settings.
Step that we tried.
If we go to the local machine and manually set the Public FW to OFF, then Windows 11 can connect to the laptop w/o any problem.
Can someone tell me why the Public FW on the local PC if affecting the connection to the wireless Miracast?
What port is/are needed to open to allow Miracast connection?
Note: We cannot turn off the Public FW as some people in our organization working remotely and connect to public WiFI network.
Thanks for your help.
