This patch will to break MSMQ in any current Windows Server version, Example KB5036896 installed on Windows Server 2019

Get "not implemented" error after patching.

ErrorNumber: '-2147467263' Source: 'MSMQTransaction' Raised 'Unhandled Exception'

Not implemented

This is because MSMQTransaction.Transaction is no longer available.

There is a note from 2016 that says this has been depreciated for 64 bit systems, but this 32 bit code and has worked for over +20 years without issue on Windows Server 2003 through to Windows Server 2022.

It is unclear Microsoft waited until now to remove this functionality.

    Hello,

It appears that a recent update, specifically KB5036896, has impacted the functionality of the MSMQ (Microsoft Message Queuing) CRM system on various Windows Server versions. The update seemed to remove or disable the MSMQTransaction.Transaction function, which has led to problems for some long-standing systems.

But based on my search from update history website, I didn't find related message. Microsoft released a __Feedback Portal__for some of products and I believe it would be good idea if the Windows Server team would have an area there to collect Suggestion from the community and the URL is Feedback · Community (microsoft.com).

Meanwhile, if it’s possible, roll back the KB5036896 update or any other recent updates that may have affected this. Check if it could be still work.

    Best Regards,

    Hania Lian
