Hello Huang, Winston-HR,
Greetings! Welcome to Microsoft Q&A Platform.
I understand that you are trying to Connect to an Azure File Share via a Private Endpoint and facing discrepancy in the address returned by nslookup
. This following doc help you with nslookup commands specification -https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/administration/windows-commands/nslookup
Azure Files provides two main types of endpoints for accessing Azure file shares:
-Public endpoints, which have a public IP address and can be accessed from anywhere in the world.
-Private endpoints, which exist within a virtual network and have a private IP address from within the address space of that virtual network.
- Verify the connection to an Azure File Share via a Private Endpoint per https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/samples/azure/azure-quickstart-templates/file-share-private-endpoint/
- Please ensure the Configuration of Azure Files network endpoints as follows https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/storage/files/storage-files-networking-endpoints?tabs=azure-portal
- When you have an internal DNS server that resolves domain names to internal IP addresses (e.g., 192.168.x.x) and an external DNS server that resolves the same domain names to public IP addresses (e.g., 203.x.x.x), inconsistencies may arise. The client might receive different responses depending on which DNS server it queries. To address this, consider implementing split-horizon DNS.
- If you still encounter discrepancies, try flushing the DNS cache using the command ipconfig /flushdns. This action will force both tools to retrieve updated information from the DNS server.
- Refer this https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/private-link/tutorial-private-endpoint-storage-portal?tabs=dynamic-ip#test-connectivity-to-private-endpoint doc for detailed troubleshooting guidance.
