Can't authenticate on IoT Hub - Not authorised

Hello everyone,

I'm experiencing a little problem and I don't know how I'm going to solve it.

We are working with a partner of ours, he has your Azure space on which he has an IoT Hub and I have machines that I need to have connected to his IoT Hub.

The machines have to authenticate with X.509 certificates.

I had our partner give me the certificate and the private key to create my certifies (in production I will obviously introduce intermediate elements).

I can't tell if I'm doing something wrong in the .conf file but this happens: I can create the certificates for my devices and I can sign them, but I can't authenticate when certain to connect the device to IoT Hub.

I used a .conf file I was using before, the environment should be the same, the only thing that changes is that our client's key no has password.

Instead, my old configuration was to use a password.

Could this be the cause of my issue?

How can I edit my configuration file?

welcome to this moderated Azure community forum.

It's hard to say what is happening with the certificates.

First, have you tried to connect with a symmetric connectionstring? Just to see if you can check the connection?

Do you have access to the IoT Hub yourself? Can you check if the certificate is uploaded?

I recommend working closely with the partner to solve this.

I did more than connect with a connection string, I did as follows:

I had a test certificate uploaded that was created following the guide you also linked me, with that certificate I signed certificates for a new test device. I can access IoT Hub without any problems with this configuration.

The problem is only when I use their certificate, I can sign the certificates for the test device but then I don't get authorization to connect to IoT Hub.

Their certificate is marked as verified on their IoT Hub.

I can't figure out if there is something wrong with the .conf file I use when creating the device certificates.

I'm really going mad since it is not exactly my area of expertise
