Azure log collection using KQL after Log Analytics deprecation

We do use multiple Azure dashboards that collect data from the VMs using Kusto Query. In the backend the logs are collected from Log Analytics workspaces where the VM is connected.

With the deprecation of Log Analytics from Aug'2024, will they stop sending data to Azure dashboards even when the VMs are connected to the Log Analytics workspaces? Does the KQL still work?

    Hello,

I think you are referring to the deprecation of the MMA agent (not all of Log Analytics) which is replaced with the AMA. The migration instructions are here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-monitor/agents/azure-monitor-agent-migration

I'd look to plan the migration in advance

source: The Log Analytics agent will be retired on August 31, 2024. You can expect the following when you use the MMA or OMS agent after this date.

    • Data upload: You can still upload data. At some point when major customers have finished migrating and data volumes significantly drop, upload will be suspended. You can expect this to take at least 6 to 9 months. You will not receive a breaking change notification of the suspension.
