I am locked out of my Microsoft Authenticator app

My authenticator app requires me to sign in, but in order to do so I need to input the password in the authenticator app... so I am stuck in a loop.
It gives me an option to sign in via the outlook app, but in order to do so, I have to uninstall the authenticator app, and then when I select the option to received authorisations on the outlook app... the loop begins again.
How can I reset my authenticator?

2024-07-09T22:13:34.4966667+00:00 Sadly, it needed Microsoft themself to assist. There was no other way round it. Every authenticator app, needed the code to begin. It has to be reset from the account itself.
I am now fixed... but have put the authenticator app on more than one device... all in the hope that I will never be in that situation again!
