Unable to open services.msc despite having administrator rights

HI, Unable to open services.msc despite having administrator rights.

Error message: Windows was unable to open service control manager, access is denied.

Need to know how can I find a event logs related to this issue so I can troubleshoot accordingly.

I suspect this might be because of Trellix App control or DLP or something. But need to be very sure before I approach the team.

To find the event log related to the Service Control Manager access denied error, you can follow the following steps:

Open the Event Viewer application. You can search in the Start menu or enter "eventvwr.msc" in the Run dialog box to open it.

In the Event Viewer, navigate to Windows Logs>System.

In the right pane, you will see a list containing detailed information about system events.

You can use filters to search for specific events. At the top of the right pane, there is a "Filter Current Log" text box where you can enter keywords such as "Service Control Manager", "Access Denied", etc.

Browse the filtered event list to find events related to your problem. You may find events related to access denied, as well as other information related to the Service Control Manager.

Click on the event to view detailed information, which may include error codes, date/timestamp, and other relevant information to help determine the root cause of the problem.
