Internal (extension only) Queue Possible?

Is it possible to assign an extension to an auto attendant or a queue in lieu of an external number so that the AA or Q is reachable internally by simply dialing that extension?

    Yes, it is possible to assign an extension to an auto attendant or a queue in Teams Phone System. This can be done by creating a resource account for the auto attendant or queue, and then assigning an extension number to that account. Once the extension is assigned, users can dial that extension to reach the auto attendant or queue.

    Hello,

    I'm glad I was able to find this thread about Microsoft Teams Extension to an Auto Attendant or Call queue. Can we do this for External callers to be redirected. This would be great for our plan to have an after-hours call queue only for those who know the extension number.

    So far my testing has not gone well. I try 799# and I get "I could not find the extension". I have an active RA with a number setup. I tried two methods on two different RA. I added an office phone number in the contact information. +1[RAphone#];ext798 (+1833xxxxxxx;ext798) and +799.

    After the testing, I noticed that the default settings when an RA is created do not include a First or Last name, only a display name. So, I changed the two RA accounts and added a first and last name. It's been 10 minutes, so I'm waiting for that to propagate before testing again. Both RA's are assigned a phone number and to separate call queues.

    Do you think its possible for external callers to dial an extension to a call queue or AA?
