Teams search pulls up archived teams and channels

When I search in Teams (CTRL / CMD+ E) it shows me a lot of irrelevant information. For example, it shows me teams and channels which have been archived. I often have to press ENTER and then scroll right to the bottom to find the relevant team. Even when I frequently visit a particular Team it does not appear higher up the list. The algorithm which Teams uses to rank its search results seems oblivious to how I interact with the app, and whether teams are archived or not. I've emailed my local IT people but received the IT support equivalent of a shrug. Is there any fix for this at a local level? Is this how the search is supposed to operate?

    Hi @Nick Riches

We apologize for the inconvenience caused.

it's important to note that the search results in Teams include both active and archived channels. This is because the content and conversations in archived teams are kept in a read-only, searchable format. So, even if a team is archived, its content can still appear in the search results.

As an alternative solution, if you have already searched for the team, you can see the team in "Recent Searches" in the search bar.
