Creation of a connection monitor between a vm and a vm scale set instance fails.

Greetings ,

I'm trying to create a connection monitor between a VM and VM scale set in sharing the same Subnet.

Cases:

the source is the Vm and the Destination whole Scale set has been selected . it works and tests are successful.

the source is the Vm and the Destination two instances of Scale set has been selected. it fails and tests are not being carried out. with the error message

   "statusMessage": "{\"status\":\"Failed\",\"error\":{\"code\":\"ResourceOperationFailure\",\"message\":\"The resource operation completed with terminal provisioning state 'Failed'.\",\"details\":[{\"code\":\"InternalServerError\",\"message\":\"An error occurred.\",\"details\":[]}]}}",

Can you please help with solving this issue , because we are interested in two of the instance from the VM scale set ? Best, Dilan

I understand that you are unable to create a Connection Monitor with source as a VM and destination as a VMSS instance.

I tried to repo your incident and I was not able to.

I successfully created a Connection monitor with an VMSS instance as destination.

This appears to be an isolated issue in your case.

As next steps,

What region does the VM and VMSS reside?

Can you try this with an incognito tab?

Can you try this with a different browser?

If you have a lower/dev environment in the same region, can you try creating a Connection Monitor for this VMSS instance

If you have a lower/dev environment in a different region, can you try creating a Connection Monitor for this lower VMSS instance
