We are currently using the Office Online Server for attachment preview. We have a requirement to preview Word or PowerPoint files with over 3000 pages. The current issue we are facing is that when opening a larger file for the first time, it is not a problem and can be opened smoothly. However, after about 10 minutes, when refreshing or re previewing the attachment, an error message will appear and it will no longer be able to be opened. The error message is shown in the following figure. Only by opening the server, deleting cache files, and restarting the service can it be opened again normally

Microsoft Office Online Server
Microsoft on-premises server product that runs Office Online. Previously known as Office Web Apps Server.

A suggested workaround is to add an entry “LogBootPerfMetricsOnAppDisposeIsEnabled=(System.Boolean)True” in the file "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office Web Apps\WebWordViewer\Settings_Service.ini" and then restart the OOS services.

The setting LogBootPerfMetricsOnAppDisposeIsEnabled is related to the performance metrics logging during the disposal of an app in the Office Online Server. When set to True, it ensures that the performance metrics are sent when the app is closed, which helps to avoid a race condition that could cause the error message you've been experiencing.
