Unable to connect XP Computers to Windows 2022 standard server

I have installed a Windows 2022 Standard server at a production company.
2 of their production machines have Windows XP installed and both Com ports and printer ports connected to the production machine itself
On their old server with Windows 2008, the production machines (XP) could connect to a drive and download programs to be executed by the production machines
I have not been able to connect the XP PCs to Winsows 2022
If anyone has a workaround, I'd love to hear about it

    Connecting Windows XP machines to a Windows Server 2022 environment can be a bit tricky due to the significant differences between these operating systems. However, there are a few approaches you can consider:

    1. File Sharing via FTP:
      • Set up an FTP server on the older Windows XP machine. You can use Internet Information Services (IIS) for this purpose.
      • Configure the FTP server to allow access to specific directories where the programs reside.
      • From the Windows Server 2022 machine, use an FTP client to connect to the XP machine and download the necessary programs.
      • Keep in mind that Windows XP is no longer supported by Microsoft and using it on the network can pose security risks.
    2. Windows Server Essentials Connector:
      • If your Windows Server 2022 is running Windows Server Essentials, you can use the Connector software to connect client computers to the server.
      • The Connector software is installed when you connect a computer to the server using the Connect a Computer to the Server Wizard . You can access this wizard by typing https://<servername>/connect, where <servername> is the name of your server.
    3. Legacy Compatibility Mode:
      • Windows Server 2022 does not natively support Windows XP due to its outdated nature.

    we solved the problem by the fact that the customer is currently using a memory stick.

    In the near future they will have the production machines updated :-)
